This was Tom's first feature film which he produced in 2001. It went on to win the top award at 8 film festivals and was an official selection at 5 festivals. It's the story of a young man arrested for his participation in a hate crime who is sentenced to 600 hours of community service at an AIDS hospice.
Tom's first documentary feature was about a man who spent 13 years in a drug and alcohol-induced fog before becoming sober. He began running Ironman Triathlons and was preparing to run his eleventh, the Madison, Wisconsin Ironman when Tom met him. This moving film tells the story of Todd's childhood struggles that continued to follow him into adulthood.
Tom worked with director Kirby Dick and producer Eddie Schmidt on this HBO-produced documentary film. Twist of Faith was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Documentary in 2005. Tom acted as camera operator, grip, and location producer for this powerful story of a man who confronts the trauma of past sexual abuse by a priest, only to find that his decision shatters relationships with his family, his community and his faith.
Tom produced this 60 second TV spot for Dot.TV along with writer, actor, comedian and co-producer Jennifer Holman. This spot won first place in a national competition for this new video platform back in 2013.
Tom produced this 9-minute safety training film for global elevator manufacturer Schindler Elevator. This has played for Schindler technicians the world over with great acclaim.
Tom wrote, produced, and directed this series of three short films for the Toledo Better Business Bureau. These films show young people making decisions of a questionable ethical nature and are used in conjunction with a live discussion about ethics.
